Double leg stretch

Pilates / Popular

The partner exercise to single leg stretch.

What coaches agree on

  • Match the exercise to your current strength: keep the arms and legs closer to your body, use a smaller range, or use an easier variation, and only build toward the full stretch as your control improves.
  • If your neck starts to tire, rest your head in your hands or on a small prop and let your abdominals keep driving the movement instead.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the chest drop and the lower back arch as the arms and legs stretch out, instead of holding the lifted, curled position the whole time.
  • Letting the shoulders creep up toward the ears as the arms reach back, instead of keeping them pulling down and the shoulder blades drawing together.
