Floater

Surfing / Popular

Ride up and over the breaking section.

What coaches agree on

  • Keep your knees bent and your body compressed through the unstable moments of the move - getting up onto the lip and coming back down off it - so you can absorb the impact and stay balanced.
  • Keep your eyes and shoulders turned toward where you're going and pick your landing spot early, so you can hold that line all the way across the section.

Common mistakes

  • Riding a full, deep bottom turn into the section like a vertical re-entry, which bleeds off the speed needed to carry up and across.
