  • Hit the lob deep, aiming to land it near the back edge of your opponent's side of the table.
  • Brush up through the ball to put topspin on the lob so it dips and kicks after the bounce, pushing your opponent back and weakening their smash.

  • The higher you lob the ball, the more time it buys you to recover your position — once you're back in good position, bring the lob down lower to leave your opponent less time to attack.
